Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to reducing barriers and supporting equitable access to professional certification systems.

Our Commitment

The Canadian Association for Financial Empowerment (CAFE) is committed to ensuring that the Certification Platform is accessible to people with disabilities and usable by as many individuals as possible.

Accessibility is not treated as a cosmetic feature or a compliance checkbox. It is part of CAFE's broader responsibility to reduce barriers, respect dignity, and support equitable participation in professional systems.

Standards and Approach

We design with reference to:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA
  • Applicable Canadian accessibility legislation

Our approach prioritizes:

  • Clear structure and readable content
  • Keyboard navigability
  • Compatibility with assistive technologies
  • Conservative use of animation
  • Predictable navigation patterns

Ongoing Improvement

The Platform is being released in phases. As with any evolving system, there may be accessibility limitations that are not yet identified or fully resolved.

We acknowledge that:

  • Some features may require refinement based on real-world use
  • Assistive technologies vary widely in behaviour
  • Accessibility testing is an ongoing responsibility

Feedback and Support

CAFE welcomes feedback on accessibility. If you encounter barriers or have difficulty accessing any part of the Platform, please contact us.

When reporting an issue, please include:

  • The page or feature involved
  • The nature of the accessibility issue
  • Any assistive technology you are using

Accommodations

Where accessibility barriers cannot be immediately resolved, CAFE will work with users to provide reasonable accommodations or alternative access to certification information and services.

This may include:

  • Providing information in alternate formats
  • Assisting with verification through administrative support
  • Adjusting processes to reduce barriers where feasible

The CAFE Certification Platform is intended to support professionals working in complex and often vulnerable contexts. Ensuring accessibility is part of respecting the people who rely on it.
